Description
St. Landry Catholic Church is a beacon of beauty in the small Louisiana town of Opelousas Louisiana. The church was completed in the early 1900. I love both Azaleas and Spanish Moss. When I saw the beautiful Azaleas blooming at the church I stopped to take pictures of Spring. I noticed the crepe myrtle trees were not blooming yet but were filled with Spanish Moss, making it a perfect time for fall and winter pictures The centinial evergreen Live Oak was at its finest and is a favorite tree to depict summer in Louisiana. So in this image I can see the seasons of the year all present and it reminds me of the the passing of time and the one hundred plus years this church building stood as a place to hear the gospel. It reminds me of the two hundred years the Catholics in Acadiana called St. Landry their church.
