This Sycamore tree grows along a small washout in St. Landry Parish. The tree is approximately 30 years old and is approximately 35 feet tall. It has seen several hurricanes but has loss very few branches. Perhaps the many vines that grow up the tree support the branches through the winds. The most dominant vine growing on the tree is Posion Ivy. It is easy to identify because of its hairy roots which grow into the bark of the tree.

I am a Cajun-Creole grandmother who was raised in South Central Louisiana and I am trying to preserve my culture as well as the things I imagine.
