As a child I have lots of memories of sitting with my friends and making long chains with these clovers (Trifolium repens) . We would sit on the playground or in the park, linking one clover after another in long chains, chatting and laughing and singing childhood songs. We imagined a life filled with happy times, a knight to save us, a house full of children who all called us "Mama," a wedding grandeur than any princess ever had, a job as a teacher, a nurse on a battle field, discovering new galaxies, and sailing away on a rocket to the moon. Each day our dreams were different but each one spoke of a dream or desire within our hearts.
I am a Cajun-Creole grandmother who was raised in South Central Louisiana and I am trying to preserve my culture as well as the things I imagine. My Primitive Folk Art preserves the simple way of life that I love. I love my culture and the place where I live and I want to share it!! Watching over my father's shoulder is how I learned to paint.
