When I saw this beautiful female Cushaw Squash flower in my garden you cannot imagine my excitement. For weeks the males have been blooming. This was the second female flower of the year. The first bloomed on a day that was filled with thunder storms. I could see the blossom from my window when I woke up but it was not weather to take a camera out in. The Cushaw is a huge squash that I have seen grow to weight of 25 pounds and more. They are perfect for for making pies for large family reunions.
