Description
My Creole Grandma married very young. She was always very spunky, even into her 80's and 90's. She loved to play with her grandchildren. She lived to see four generations with she and grandpa's blood. No wedding photograph of her exist. I painted this hoping to capture her joy for living. The French Acadian style home in the painting is a smaller version of her home. The road that led to her home was lined with live oaks filled with Spanish moss. I painted the moss filled live oak with its roots exposed to represent her strong love of family and to emphasize that she was to be the mother (and grandmother) of many.
