Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

I love the way you tell this story about your visiting grandma and how you interpret the painting according to the perspective of space and use. Beautifully colored and dreamlike!

Artist's Description

Visiting Grandma with my two brothers, I am coming down the steps in my favorite blue dress.
The steps on her porch lead to a attic room that was commonly used for the boys so that they could do early morning chores without bothering the rest of the family. Grandma had lots of pecan trees all around her house.
I am naturally blond but usually paint myself brunette when I am at Grandma's house. So many of my cousins inherited my Grandma's dark hair. I look more like my other three grandparents.
This is one of my favorite Folk Art paintings of Grandma's house because it is so primitive. Grandma's home still stands in Grand Prairie, Louisiana. It has two attic windows and three first story windows but I usually paint it smaller like it is in this painting. The house was divided into five rooms: living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and bath. It had no hall or foyer. Because the attic could only be reached by going outside and because it wasn't finished, I never really though...

About Seaux-N-Seau Soileau

Seaux-N-Seau Soileau

I am a Cajun-Creole grandmother who was raised in South Central Louisiana and I am trying to preserve my culture as well as the things I imagine. My Primitive Folk Art preserves the simple way of life that I love. I love my culture and the place where I live and I want to share it!! Watching over my father's shoulder is how I learned to paint. He did primitive folk art for local shops. I took several art classes in college as well as private lessons from some of Acadiana's finest artist beginning when my oldest child was in kindergarten. I learned several techniques and styles. I am now grandmother to ten grandchildren. I have been selling my folk art for almost as many years as I have been a mother. When capturing the culture of the...
