My Paw-Paw and I were great friends. We did lots of things together. One of my favorite memories was picking eggs so Maw-Maw could make cakes for us. He called me his "Jolie Blonde." That means "pretty blond" in Cajun French. The trees on either side of us are Chinese Tallow. Here in Acadiana where we Cajuns live we call them , "Chicken Trees." We picked the seeds off the trees, dried them and stored them to feed the chickens in the winter. Most people call the chickens in the painting "Silver Lace Wine Dots" but here we call them "Zanga." My memories of Paw-Paw are few, because he died when I was four. My love for him however, remains strong.
Wonderful image for a nursery or playroom.

I learned several techniques and styles. I am now grandmother to ten grandchildren. I have been selling my folk art for almost as many years as I have been a mother. When capturing the culture of the...
