Description
This steam engine has built the imagination of many generations. My parents often took me to see the Mary Jane when I was a child. It was located on the grounds of the St. Landry Parish Courthouse in Opelousas, Louisiana. The train engine was moved to Le Vieux Village between the east and west bound lanes of highway 190. I have brought my grandchildren to visit it and to climb in and they pretend to be the conductor just like I did. It is located on the same grounds as the Orphan Train Museum. It is similar to the trains that brought so many orphans to Acadiana from New York.
