Artist's Description
This painting is a bit of a twist on the Courir de Mardi Gras which is a traditional Cajun Creole Mardi Gras held in Rural south central to south western Louisiana in an area called Acadiana. It is normally done by men in colorful costumes on horseback. They ride through their communities collecting items for a community gumbo. They go home to home to beg for ingredients. The men sign and dance and the homeowners after being entertained donate. The prize ingredient is a live chicken. The farmer throws out the chicken and the men much chase and capture the chicken. Often Mardi Gras is held during hunting season and men are torn between two loves, the Mardi Gras or hunting. I united the two for a fun comical look at what a Mardi Gras might look like at a hunting club in rural Acadiana.
About Seaux-N-Seau Soileau

When capturing the culture of the...
