Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

The Heart of Wisdom expresses the true "Joy of Life" the Cajun people have. Painting the screen is my favorite part of Courir de Mardi Gras mask making. I learned this art from my family. My grandmother who was born over 125 years ago and my father who was born in the late 1920's were my teachers of this art. After painting the screen, the mask is shaped then a brightly colored fabric boarder is sewn around it.
I am a Cajun-Creole grandmother who was raised in South Central Louisiana and I am trying to preserve my culture as well as the things I imagine. My Primitive Folk Art preserves the simple way of life that I love. I love my culture and the place where I live and I want to share it!! Watching over my father's shoulder is how I learned to paint. He did primitive folk art for local shops. I took several art classes in college as well as private lessons from some of Acadiana's finest artist beginning when my oldest child was in kindergarten.
