Description
Gumball trees grow wild in Louisiana. Cajun and Creoles have used the gumballs to make beautiful wreaths and to make Christmas decorations. When I was a girl the boys use to play wars and the gumballs were cannons and grenades. We girls use to paint them blue and hang them from our ceiling in our bedrooms like stars in the sky. They are as beautiful as flowers and sharper than thorns. I have accidentally steppe on them barefoot and that wasn't fun. When I looked down to see the gumball the thought of so many beautiful things that I have seen made with them erased the feeling of disgust. I couldn't help but be amazed at their beauty.
