I took care of my Daddy during his final years. Daddy was my first art teacher. I watched him paint every chance I got. As Daddy got older the tables were turned an in turn he watchced me paint. During his final days when I sat at his bedside. I wanted to paint him something beautiful. Daddy loved flowers and he and Mama always had flowers in their yard and bouquets around the house. Daddy was a veteran. I wanted to paint something that was a bit patriotic. Daddy's favorite color was gold and now and then he and Mama planted sunflowers. Daddy loved them and was always quick to bring visitors to see the large blossoms. After I was finished with the painting I held it so Daddy could see it. He studied each and every flower. He smiled with each new blossom his eyes took in.
