This large rooster was captured in hopes of going into the large pot of gumbo. Will he make it to the gumbo pot this year?
Bring More Roux was painted in the traditional Cajun/Creole style taught to me by my parents and grandparents and that I teach to my granchildren. The instruments they play are common to this South Central Louisiana area. The washboard, triangle, fiddle, and accordion are all instruments that can be heard in both Cajun and Creole dance halls.
The original image was auctioned on Louisiana Public Broadcasting for their Friends of LPB Art and Travel Auction.
